Dealing With Grief & Expectations

Dealing With Grief & Expectations

How does one deal with loss and disappointments? How does it affect the way you view yourself and your situation moving forward? I’ve found that Grief & Expectations cause many issues in our lives. Many of us don’t even realize that we are grieving and hurting due to being let down, personal loss, and or due to being a witness to the loss others experience.  Grief and being let down can cause deep depression, for this reason it is important to scan your life and situations as well as seek help!

Grief: If you’re struggling with the loss of a loved one, and or observation of the loss others experience, it may be good to seek counsel among your elders (those older than you among family, friends, church etc.) It may also help to discuss your loss openly, as well as your thought process, in a welcoming and professional setting.

Expectations: Being let down based on our expectations is such a broad subject to cover. Be sure to tune into my podcast above as I discuss my own experiences with Expectations of others. To move past being let down, I recommend the following: MOTIVATION & GOAL ASSIGNMENT: A. Change your expectation. B. Make the individual aware of your expectations of them and discuss how you were affected because it wasn’t met. C. If you’re dealing with not meeting your own expectations, make a new plan and try again! D. Forgive!
